Server Upgrade: OS Drive Enhanced with Samsung EVO SSD

On October 3rd, 2024, we upgraded our OS drive with a 1TB Samsung EVO 870 SSD to enhance application speed and improve CPU functionality. The upgrade involved a planned server downtime of 4 hours. Below is a brief summary of the process:

• Server shut down and SSD installed.
• Removed the existing data disk drives.
• Powered up server and installed the OS on the new SSD.
• Windows booted successfully.
• Installed programs and applications.
• Server shut down again to reinsert the data disk drives.
• Configured application paths and ran system checks.
• Finalized OS and application setup.
• Repurposed the old OS HDD as a server backup drive.

This upgrade ensures improved performance and more efficient server operations moving forward.
